Love him or hate him, but don’t slate him – Jinder Mahal has successfully defended his WWE title once again after defeating Shinsuke Nakamura at Summerslam.

A sellout crowd in New York gave Nakamura a rapturous ovation as he made his way to the ring, and the Japanese star lived up to his star billing with an excellent performance in the ring.

Mahal has been one of 2017’s most surprising success stories, and he displayed his new-found confidence during the match, coming across as the star few expected him to be.

Although he moves like Michael Jackson, Nakamura’s main asset is his physicality, and he used that attribute with great effect against Mahal.

Nakamura’s strike-heavy style matched well with Mahal’s own work, and the Singh Brothers once again proved they are the best background act in the company.

Fans online were unhappy with the decision, with many believing Nakamura should have been given the victory instead.

Despite Nakamura’s excellence, it was Mahal who claimed the victory, and it remains to be seen if this feud will continue.

Mahal pinned Nakamura after interference from the Singh Brothers, and the champion has now added another name to his reign of terror in WWE.
